ABOUT US

OUR MISSION

HAIN's mission is to deliver emergency financial support to abused and injured animals. With the steadfast belief that every animal deserves a chance at life, we work tirelessly on fundraising to ensure that we can save as many lives as possible regardless of the costs involved.

WHAT WE DO

HAIN Rescue Fund is a grant program that financially supports homeless, abused and neglected animals who are under the care of local 501c3 rescue organizations. We also support animals who need long term and permanent care such as those who have special needs and are victims of forced fighting.

WHY ARE WE PROVIDING GRANTS TO ANIMALS UNDER THE CARE OF RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS?

  • As we know, emergencies happen in the blink of an eye and sometimes funds are needed quickly to save animals. Getting grants from the government can be a very long and tedious process.

  • Most large corporations and businesses who fundraise for animal rescue end up donating the funds to large nation / worldwide organizations such as ASPCA and Humane Society, overlooking smaller organizations.

  • Special needs animals and those with injuries are less likely to be picked up by a rescue or fostered due to lack of resources, and are more likely to be euthanized without ever given the chance to live a happy life.

  • Smaller rescues typically don’t have the resources to fundraise on a large scale and most of their time is dedicated to saving animals, caring for them, getting them in foster homes, finding adopters, etc.

HOW WE DISTRIBUTE FUNDS

We work closely with rescue organizations to assess animals that need financial help from HAIN Rescue Fund. All rescues are vetted for legitimacy to make sure they are fulfilling their own mission to help animals and are compliant with section 501(3)(c) of the Internal Revenue Code. We keep records of all animals who we distribute funds to, what the funds are used for, their medical condition, health status, foster care/adoption status and any other information we feel is important or required by law or the Internal Revenue Service.

The rescue organization must describe in detail what the funds will be used for and they can only use the funds to support animals. Distribution of funds / grants can NOT be used to support the day to day operations of any rescue organization such as paying rent, utilities, staff members, etc. We do not provide funds to organizations for business related expenses. All funds must be used for the animal(s) under their care that need financial aid to better their health and overall quality of life.

 Meet The Founder

Picture
Christy was born with a passion for animals. When she was a little girl, her parents took her to the local county shelter to pick out a puppy. Little did she know her dog had Parvo. The vet said it’s probably best to euthanize her puppy but she decided she was going to take her baby home and stay up all night taking care of her. After many failed attempts to get the dog to drink water or eat food, she decided to give her chicken noodle soup through a dropper because, you know, soup makes everyone better. Long story short, her puppy was a part of Christy’s family for 12 years. From that day on she decided she would never give up on an animal who deserves the chance to fight for their life.

Throughout the years, Christy has volunteered at Rescues and fostered many dogs, cats, and even baby pigeons. Her life long dream was to have a non-profit supporting animal rescue and to have a sanctuary ranch of her own. Once the pandemic hit, she decided she was going to use the extra time spent at home to make her dreams come true and make a positive impact in her community. HAIN Rescue Fund has finally become a reality. The non-profit is just getting started but the vision Christy has for the future of HAIN will save so many lives and support a lot of local rescues in the community.
